How often should EPC be done?

An EPC is valid for 10 years and can be used multiple times during this period. The EPC will expire after 10 years and a new EPC (valid for the next 10 years) should be produced if the property is marketed for sale or rent at that time.

The A To G scale

Energy Performance Certificates use a scale of A to G. A being the most efficient home, with lower fuel bills and G being the least energy efficient with higher energy bills. The same scale is used to define the environmental impact of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of a home. Most properties in Britain are band D or E.

How much does an EPC cost UK?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) usually costs between £35 and £120 (including VAT). The cost depends on a number of factors, including the type of property you own and how many bedrooms it has.

Are Heat Pumps Noisy?

The outdoor part of the system does have a fan which draws the air across the internal components and this will make a whirring noise in operation.  The amount of noise depends on the quality of the product and this is where the Ecodan range has led the market in the UK.

Will a heat pump be enough to provide all my heating?

Yes, if it is sized correctly – there is not much point replacing your heating system with one not big enough for your needs! A good system designer will take your household’s heating requirements into consideration and make sure the heat pump they recommend is big enough to provide the right amount.
